What to do over the week 26/02 - 04/03

So to sum up, over the week your focus should be to:


  • Work on your research slide/s, so that we end up with a really well rounded view of the renaissance and what was important. You will pick another aspect of the renaissance to research. It is OK for people to be researching the same topic by the way.
  • Watch episode 1 'Body and Soul', of Andrew Graham Dixon's Renaissance series. You'll find a link to the folder here https://plus.google.com/u/0/104957215588471821732/posts/govgtu9zhNV
  • Start building on ideas in knowledge forum in the values and arguments view, and of course adding your own questions, or things we need to develop our knowledge about as a class. Your questions might come out of what you identified today when we were talking about the documentary the pure radiance of the past, or it could be investigating  the questions that we identified in our shared research slides. Also add what you know already about the Renaissance. This is important as we all have different backgrounds in terms of religion; from completely secular, to students at special character schools with regular chapel services and religious education as a part of your curriculum.

As you come into the call can you please sign in then add to: What is on top? KF - externals style KF - externals meanings KF - externals context We will keep coming back to these to build up our knowledge base for externals. This is your chance to build up some resources that you can draw upon if you are surprised by the exam question. We will focus on building on our ideas to ask 'why' and 'how', as this will support M and E level thinking. Knowledge Building is a good approach for this as it much easier to ask these questions in the context of a conversation. Madison and Hazel's questions are a really good example of this.  By special request, we will play a Kahoot or two. Let me know which revision tools you find helpful and I can plan around this. Art History VC 23/09/20

 Kia ora all, How are we all? -to some of you For those of you who are working on the internal and not sitting the art history external/s this week is a natural ending point to your course with the assignment being due on Friday. My grand plan is to get marking sorted this weekend so that my moderator has all of the holidays to look at your work. All going well I should have marks back to you in week one of term four. Online courses can often have an abrupt ending when students go on study leave or complete their internal programme ... I wanted to give people a chance to reflect on how they've grown as a learner and the skills or mindsets they'll take with them.
