Kia ora all,
Let's catch up first of all.
How are we going as people: one good thing, one tricky thing, how are we feeling about the theories now?
We'll catch up on the presentations I missed out at the end of last week due to time constraints.
Then we'll share the research made over the week into specific principles relating to the theories.
[I am sooo impressed with the rigour of the research so far]
Then looking at some exemplars:
(remember the NZQA ones are just a section of what the student would have submited)
Theories:
N, -NZQA exemplar. Scroll to the bottom for this one
M, -scroll down for this one. You can choose low or high m.
E - NetNZ student. Low excellence but it did enough to get there.
Texts
N -NZQA exemplar. Scroll to the bottom for this one
M - NZQA exemplar. Scroll for this one. You can choose low or high m
E- Mid E. NetNZ student (Note that this student's assignment was for Texts and Arguments which is different to the Theories and Texts that you will be asked to focus on)
Then make notes about the exemplar here. Why do you think it got the grade it did. What did they focus on. What could they do better?
Perhaps a bit of time knowledge building in the Padlet? What can you add to our group discussion? This is all about building our ideas up over time. It should be starting to look like a tree of ideas with lots of branches growing. What have you learnt over the week? Add this. What can you add to someone else's posts. Add your ideas there. Do you have new questions. Add these. Could you answer someone else's question? Add your ideas there.
Our next step will be to research art works and how theories impact on/relate to them. I have a list of suggested artworks here. You could also choose your own, but you would need to justify how they relate to the theory. Much like the values research, you will research at least two art works. For each artwork you will research two principles from a theory and how they have impacted on or relate to the art work. We'll make a start today and then share back our findings about an art work and a principle that relates to it next Wednesday.
