Hi all,
It was great to see that you have come back from the holidays refreshed and motivated for a new term of art history.
Hopefully, our focus for the next few weeks was been made really clear in our Google Meet.
We are starting our written synthesis. Read through the google doc I made (it is on the Modules of learning page of our blog) and get super familiar with it. There is lots in it that is designed to support you through writing the synthesis.
The purpose of the written synthesis is to capture the knowledge building work that you have been doing over the past few weeks. When you have completed the synthesis, I will give you a grade and feedback, written with assessment for learning in mind. *NB assessment for learning is about giving you feedback that will be useful for your learning and us setting goals for what you need to do next. This means you will be able to improve your work as the year goes on. Think of the synthesis as a way of capturing your ongoing learning, rather than a full stop to your learning.
I would recommend reading through the synthesis carefully (post any questions)
See which parts of the synthesis your knowledge forum notes already answer.
See what kind of gaps you have.
Spend time writing notes in knowledge forum exploring aspects you still need to cover.
Break it down into little bits. If the synthesis is due on the 16th of May, what can you do each day to work towards the synthesis?
I hope this makes sense. Please feel free to ask questions so that we can further unpack what is needed.
