I would like to start using screencastify to record our google meets so that we can refer back to discussion if that is ok with you. I would keep them in a google drive folder that is accessible just to us. Today's recording in particular would be shared with my HoD who appraises my teaching each year.
Today will be a bit admin-y as there is a bit to cover in terms of what we need to be working towards NCEA wise.
Starting with what's on top for us. What is happening in our worlds and where we are at with our research into the values.
Please share some interesting discoveries and how they have helped your understanding of the big picture.
What has been helpful for you (on the website, on KF or some other sources? (NB - when you click on the link, scroll down to the red padlet).
We will then spend a bit of time adding to Knowledge Forum. This could be adding research you have been doing as a note. Or new questions that have come up after doing research, or responding to someone elses' question or idea.
We'll then have a look at the synthesis task, and spend some time going over questions.
Following that, we will unpick an exemplar of how to write about values from a Knowledge Building perspective. I will share this with you during class rather than giving you the link now, so that we don't run into any issues with authenticity.

This relates to the principle of 'Idea Diversity' - Just as biodiversity is crucial to the success of an ecosystem, so is idea diversity - including those in stark contrast - to create an environment for ideas to evolve and develop. Sharing your research with others helps you to form a more perceptive understanding, which you will see when we look at what is required for the synthesis is something we place a lot of weight on in art history.
