Our VC this week 04/07

What's on top

 Once you have signed in on your attendance and added your thoughts about what's on top for you with art history we will spend some time reflecting on key ideas that have emerged from your theories research. What kind of aha moments did you have/what ideas crystalised when you were writing this?

 Media and Processes synthesis instructions. Hopefully, you have had a chance to look over this during the week. Please have some ideas prepared about what you think the focus is for this module. We'll spend some time unpacking the key focus.  The Media and processes page on Weebly. will be useful for this unit. Please bookmark it.

 I will give a short presentation on Contextual influences and big debates. I will see how I go delivering this as my voice is really not up to much (it has been wiped out by this cold virus I have at the moment). If my voice is not coping we will approach this in an alternative way (most likely each student reading 2 slides each. 
I have got a slide at the end of the presentation that has a few questions to spur discussion. You will choose one of these and post your ideas or questions about this on Knowledge Forum. If it aligns with an existing post, build on that.

 We are going to start exploring a key debate in the Renaissance. I am going to explain the module to you, please follow with the document in front of you as I am explaining. We are going to start our research with watching  an explanation of The Accademia delle Arti Del Disegno and reading the first starter resource link in the Colorito and Disegno module doc.  We will  add our emerging thoughts about what is of key importance to disegno and colorito on knowledge forum on the making meanings view. You will continue to research colorito and disegno over the week, referring to the module guidelines and the resources you have been provided with.

 As always we will catch up with how we are and what is on top for us We'll have a go with Socrative . I've got a quiz set up about meanings. Let me know how you like it as a revision tool. We will have a chat about our strong and weak points, which artists do we need to look at as a class? Which meanings do we need to look at more closely, now that we have researched some of the Mannerists and Venetians? Then we'll   continue with our group research to cover off the artists and meanings we need to look at - we'll show and tell what we've found out, then select a new artist with the plan of sharing back to the class next week. Our VC 05/08

As you come into the call can you please sign in then add to: What is on top? KF - externals style KF - externals meanings KF - externals context We will keep coming back to these to build up our knowledge base for externals. This is your chance to build up some resources that you can draw upon if you are surprised by the exam question. We will focus on building on our ideas to ask 'why' and 'how', as this will support M and E level thinking. Knowledge Building is a good approach for this as it much easier to ask these questions in the context of a conversation. Madison and Hazel's questions are a really good example of this.  By special request, we will play a Kahoot or two. Let me know which revision tools you find helpful and I can plan around this. Art History VC 23/09/20

 Kia ora all, How are we all? -to some of you For those of you who are working on the internal and not sitting the art history external/s this week is a natural ending point to your course with the assignment being due on Friday. My grand plan is to get marking sorted this weekend so that my moderator has all of the holidays to look at your work. All going well I should have marks back to you in week one of term four. Online courses can often have an abrupt ending when students go on study leave or complete their internal programme ... I wanted to give people a chance to reflect on how they've grown as a learner and the skills or mindsets they'll take with them.
